 Visual and Performing Arts  

  1. Select and coordinate music for A Celebration of Life with the Membership Committee
  2. Plan and coordinate music/arts for the DKG California Convention
  3. Provide workshops to encourage the use of music/arts at Chapter, Area and State functions
  4. Establish and maintain a DKG California music library
  5. Plan music for functions as requested by the DKG CaliforniaState President.

Professionally, I have been I have been a music teacher.  I have taught all grade levels, K-Jr. College, with an emphasis in instrumental music. At the Chapter level, I have served as 1st Vice President and President. Currently I am past President, Finance Chairman, Fundraising Chairman, Nominations Chairman, and Yearbook Publisher. My Chi State involvement includes being Area XV Director.


Gretchen Covington (Arts)

Professionally, I have been an elementary teacher, 3-5, and a middle school teacher, 6-8, Home Economics, Math, and Social Studies.  I was a mentor teacher and teacher leader for the California Reading Project. At the Chapter level, I was VP, President, Historian and Jared Box Project Chairman.   At the Chi State level, I served as the Area I Director, 2013-2015, the Chi State Store Chairman, at the 2015 Convention.  During 2015-2017 I will serve on the Art & Music Committee.
