Awards and Recognitions


  1. Recognize outstanding Chapter and Area members
  2. Administer the Distinguished Service Awards as stipulated in the Standing Rules of DKG California, Section 2.1
  3. Administer the DKG CaliforniaHostelship Program
  4. Administer the DKG California Youth at Risk and the Community Services Programs
  5. Keep a cumulative record of award recipients and send photos of recipients and biographical information to DKG California Education Center.
  6. Promote Women’s History Month by urging Chapters to select a Chapter or community member to be honored during the month of March.
  7. Develop criteria, collect data and arrange for recognition of Honor Chapters.

Chapter: Beta Iota    Area:   XII                       

                                                                                                                                         

Professionally, I have been a middle and high school teacher, activities director, assistant principal, vice principal, principal, and principal on special assignment in charge of accountability.  Currently, I am a 'coach' for principals and teacher leadership teams. At the Chapter level, I have served as Program Chair and Chapter President. My Chi State involvement includes serving as Area Director for Area XII. 


Gloria Bracco

Professionally,  I have been a primary teacher for 42 years and on the Principal’s Advisory Committee.  At the Chapter level, I have been President for six years (not consecutively), 1st and 2nd  Vice President, Treasurer, and chairman for various committees. My Chi State involvement includes currently being a member of the Awards and Recognitions Committee and a Hostess for Interest Sessions at the 2014 and 2015 Chi State Conventions. 


Kate Farlow

Chapter: Beta Epsilon       Area:  IX


Professionally, I was an elementary teacher for 13 years and an ELD Special for Burbank USD for 26 years. At the Chapter level, I have been President twice and held many other offices.

My Chi State involvement includes Area IX Director, chairman of many committees including Leadership Development, Membership, and Nominations and was 2009-11 Budget Coordinator and 2013 Burbank Convention Arrangements Chair. I have served DKG International as a convention facilitator for membership during the 2004 convention.




Kathleen Nguyen

Chapter:  Delta Xi     Area:  VI

                           

Professionally, I have been an educator for 36 years.  I have taught kindergarten through eighth grade with an emphasis on English.  I have also served eight of those years as an administrator.  I currently teach kindergarten.  At the Chapter level, I have been corresponding secretary and president for four years.  At the state level, I have served on the Leadership Development Committee, Area VI Director, Scholarships Chairman, Nominations Committee and currently serve on the Awards and Recognition Committee.
